The James Madison University Debate Team and the School of Communication Studies at JMU is seeking to fill two graduate teaching/coaching positions beginning in the Fall 2022 semester. JMU is located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley in Harrisonburg, VA.
JMU offers an outstanding MA in Communication & Advocacy that involves both academic and professional areas of emphasis, including in Environmental Communication, Health Communication, and Strategic Communication. JMU has an excellent track record of preparing students for either a Ph.D or entering a profession. Those interested in the GTA positions must apply and be accepted to these programs.
Our GTAs are integral to our success as a program. We work with many different levels of debater, from college novices to national circuit competitors. We are seeking people who dedicated to helping others to learn or improve in debate, not necessarily the those with the best track record as competitor.
